Appalling doctor. Will not prescribe diabetic essentials like needles and test strips when you need them. Only once a month if you're lucky. I've had receptionists refusing to give me my son's insulin pen needles even though he has only a few left, forcing me to buy my own. Same for the test strips. Extremely mean and makes you feel guilty about ordering medicines that you are entitled to.
I've had receptionists phone me up on several occasions asking me to justify the amount of test strips my son is using even though he is NOT over testing. The hospital is aware of this and I am pursuing a complaint. I've never had such an insensitive doctor with so little understanding of diabetes in children. The surgery is full of advice for carers and asking how they can help you deal with stress. Giving me the medicines my son needs would be a start!
